Afgelopen jaar voerden de Universiteit van Utrecht, St. Gallen Universiteit, Bocconi Business School, Finance on a Mission, Oracle en UiPath onderzoek uit naar de stand van de Finance Transformatie. Dit onderzoek wordt al zeven jaar uitgevoerd, en heeft dit jaar weer geleid tot interessante inzichten. Bovendien is ook dit jaar een onderzoek uitgevoerd in internationaal verband. Voor de Nederlandse situatie is het onderzoek verder gespecificeerd. Aan het onderzoek namen 134 respondenten uit Nederland deel. Bovendien zijn gesprekken gevoerd met ruim 100 Finance Executives. Hiermee is een representatief beeld ontstaan van hoe Finance organisaties in Nederland vorm geven aan de transformatie. Het onderzoek is een combinatie van kwantitatieve analyse, en kwalitatieve input. Dit jaar is specifiek gekeken naar de rol die Finance speelt in het verankeren van ESG, en hoe de verdergaande digitalisering vorm krijgt. We stellen vast dat de Finance positiever kijkt naar de ontwikkelingen op het gebied van digitalisering. Ook zien we dat ESG een prominente rol krijgt in de strategie van organisaties, terwijl de rol van Finance in het verankeren van ESG toeneemt. Last year, the University of Utrecht, St. Gallen University, Bocconi Business School, Finance on a Mission, Oracle, and UiPath conducted research on the state of Finance Transformation. This research has been ongoing for seven years and has once again yielded interesting insights this year. Additionally, an international study was conducted this year. For the Dutch situation, the research was further specified, with 134 respondents from the Netherlands participating. Moreover, conversations were held with over 100 Finance Executives, creating a representative picture of how Finance organizations in the Netherlands are shaping transformation. The research combines quantitative analysis and qualitative input. This year, the focus was specifically on the role Finance plays in embedding ESG and how the ongoing digitization takes form. We observe that Finance has a more positive outlook on developments in digitization. It is also evident that ESG plays a prominent role in the strategies of organizations, with the role of Finance in embedding ESG increasing.
