Speakers Finance on a Mission 2022 – Spring edition

Our speakers for the Spring edition include:

 

Maikel Batelaan is partner at De Transformatie Groep focusing on transformation and leadership. As consultant, facilitator, mentor, author and founder/CEO he has been involved in the transformation of listed corporations, family-run businesses, co-operatives, PE-owned companies, professional partnerships, scale-ups, start-ups and NGOs. The transition to sustainability is a key theme for many of his clients, requiring new directions in the business and new ways of engaging with stakeholders. Recently he and his colleagues Joost Manassen and Derk Egeler published the book “Waarom zou ik je moeten vertrouwen” (Why should I trust you).

Lars Häggström is currently a senior adviser at IMD business school. Before taking on this new role, Lars worked for 25 years at various companies in different places around the world. He has extensive experience in major transformations and has great insight into what makes people and organizations function at their best. He gained this experience through trial and error. An important transformation that he did from a CHRO role is that he helped to transform the oldest company in the world (Stora Enso) to a sustainable business models. This transformation took place within the organization itself and made Stora Enso a vital organization again. During the Spring edition of Finance on a Mission, he will discuss how leadership can support the necessary transformation to sustainable earning models.

Marlies Janssen is Director Finance & Control at Royal Van Oord, a large Dutch Dredging and Marine contractor, since 2021. In this role she is responsible for Finance & Control within Van Oord globally, which includes a.o. Reporting & Control, Tax, Financial Shared Services, Finance Systems, Business and Project Control. Marlies is a seasoned Finance Professional with experience in various aspects of the Finance domain. She uses that experience to build strong teams. Marlies has a strong vision on Finance in the dynamics of change. During a Finance Executive talkshow she will share her thoughts on what Finance can do to support a sustainable organization.

Emiel Jongerius is Group Controller at AkzoNobel. Previously he worked in various Finance roles at Philips and Signify. Emiel has a strong focus on the market and on results. In addition, he has a change mindset. From the “People. Planet. Paint” approach, AkzoNobel strives to reduce its impact on the planet through continuous innovation and delivering sustainable solutions for customers. During a Finance Executive talk show at Finance on a Mission, Emiel will share his vision on the role Finance has in making the organization more sustainable.

Edwin Kunkels is VP Group Reporting & Deputy Controller at Shell. He went through a career in Finance at Shell that took him to different places around the world. Shell’s ‘powering progress strategy’includes: “generating shareholder value, achieving net-zero emissions, powering lives and respecting nature, underpinned by our core values and focus on safety. Edwin is in the Finance heart of the organization, where everything related to reporting comes together. How does Edwin view the role of reporting on the way to a more sustainable future? During a talk show with various Finance Executives, he’ll share his vision on this theme. In 2020 Shell won the FD Henri Sijthoff award for the best annual report.

Vivienne de Leeuw is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Port of Rotterdam Authority since 1 July 2019. Her responsibilities include Finance, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, Facilities, IT, Digital Solutions and Innovation. She started working at Arthur Andersen (later: Deloitte) in 1999 in the Corporate Finance practice. In 2008 Vivienne moved to Royal KPN, first as Head of Investor Relations and later as CFO of the Consumer Division. In 2017 Vivienne moved to the CFO position of RTL Nederland, the Dutch market leader in the broadcasting & entertainment sector. Vivienne is also the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PortBase,  Smartport and Chairman of the Foundation Board of Port XL

Aniek Moonen is 24 years old and president of the “Jonge Klimaatbeweging”. As president of the Jonge Klimaatbeweging she represents more than 100,000 Dutch young people in the political climate debate. Her expertise lies in themes such as climate justice and broad prosperity. Moonen graduated from Leiden University College The Hague, in Governance, Economics and Development, and is currently doing a master’s degree in Global Business and Sustainability at Erasmus University.

Margareta Mucibabici (Chesaru) is Public Affairs & Social Impact Director at UiPath. She has an extensive background in public policy, legal and regulatory affairs. In her current role, she is bringing her energy and know-how into shaping a multi-stakeholder dialogue on the role of AI and automation technologies in the context of the digital economy, while also looking for solutions to address today’s educational and societal challenges. Margareta represents UiPath in various trade & industry associations, including the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union, where she holds the Vice-Chair position in the Future of Work, Education & Skills Task Force.

Helen Richardson is CHRO at Renewi, a leading company focused on giving new life to used materials. In doing so, Renewi plays a crucial role in making our world more sustainable. Prior to Renewi, Helen held various HR roles at several other organizations, including Danone and T-Mobile. Helen loves change and sees it as her job to guide the organization in times of change. From knowledge and trust, in an environment where making mistakes is allowed. In the talk show during Finance on a Mission she’ll share her ideas about successful transformation.

Guus van der Weijden RC

Guus van der Weijden is manager Group Planning & Performance at Achmea. As a Finance Professional he has a strong affinity with IT. Besides that, he has a clear vision on the impact digitalization has on Finance as a profession. Based on his experience, enthusiasm and digital savviness, he builds high performance teams that have a good connection with business and IT. He has a strong focus on improving the added value of the organization for all stakeholders. In the talkshow about leading the transition he shares his vision on the rol that Finance has in successfully transforming the organization beyond shareholder value alone.
